The IPA is 100 years old this year, and to celebrate that momentous milestone they’re throwing the Festival of British Advertising. To mark the occasion they’ve also commissioned this nostalgic super-spot, featuring some of the most iconic ads of the last century. Using innovative flash techniques, Studio Sixty Billion and Mill+ the two agencies that created ’The Ad of Ads’, have breathed fresh life into the vintage commercials, to create a delightful visual mash-up
We were asked to music supervise this momentous walk down memory lane and we knew straight away the genius Hollywood film composer, Lorne Balfe was who we should call. Given it’s a pretty major anniversary, there was only one song that could possibly do the job. And after all, what’s more celebratory than a triumphant, orchestral rendition of the one tune everyone can carry... ‘Happy Birthday'? Take a bow, Mr Balfe.
